Never Forget Those Who Fight

I don't know of a day that goes by, that in some way or another, I don't remember those who fight in defense of freedom around the world. Some days, we hear of a combat death, and other days, we don't. We should ALWAYS hear of such a loss. They deserve our recognition of that price they paid.

I get wrapped up in daily things, like we all do, and I may not take the time to say a prayer for them like I should. But I always remember them in thought and heart, and do often include them in my daily prayer.

I also get wrapped up in the political scene, and rant about such things that are important to me, and in my view, our country. And to some, it may seem that is all I care about. It's not. I do care, and if young enough, would be right there beside those men and women.

But aside from all that, I offer up this ~

To the men and women in our Military, all over the world, I thank you for your service. To those in combat areas, the bad-lands of the world, I DO remember you each day, and I pray for you and your families, who anxiously await your safe return. Most Americans feel the same way, even if not voiced or projected.

Life goes on, as it should, but let us NEVER FORGET those in harms way. To YOU in our military, YOU are our shields against the encroachment of those who would take our freedoms, including our freedom to live.

Every day, our military men and women deserve our thoughts and prayers. Every day, THEIR lives are on the line. In the last 30 days alone, our Afghanistan losses number 34 service members, from all our coalition forces, who have been killed. Of those, 19 are our US Military members. Note too, that of those 34 killed, 5 of those are Australian; 5 are UK members, and 5 are listed as UN (although no further information on those are listed as UN). In this past year, the losses also included military members from New Zealand, Georgia, France, Italy, Albania, Turkey, Canada, Spain, Poland, Estonia, and Czech. All those those folks, also had loved ones at home who morn their losses.

Know this too - The taking of their own lives by our military members, is at an all-time high. PRAY for healing of those tormented inside, that they can find some level of peace and not take their own lives. These too, are terrible losses, and those families need pray and support.

For me, I pray this: "God in Heaven, please Bless the lives of our men and women who are charged with doing our dirty work in far away lands. Bless too, those families who wait each day for the safe return of those in harms way, and give them the spiritual strength they need to get through each day. I ask too Lord, that You speak to those hearts and minds of those tormented inside, so they see a path out of that torment and darkness. Lastly, please lead and guide those who make our Nation's decisions, so that they make such decisions that best serve You, and our Nation's survival. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

Never Forget!
Humbly yours,
Dan
