To borrow a scene and quote from the movie, Tombstone:
Wyatt Earp: What makes a man like Ringo, Doc? What makes him do the things he does?
Doc Holliday: A man like Ringo has got a great big hole, right in the middle of him. He can never kill enough, or steal enough, or inflict enough pain to ever fill it.
Wyatt Earp: What does he need?
Doc Holliday: Revenge.
Wyatt Earp: For what?
Doc Holliday: Bein' born.
With the spread of protests to over 20 countries, supposedly over some nothing of a YouTube video that is said to demean the prophet mohammad, it leaves me dumbfounded.
Such a nothin' video, that few have even seen, could get people to go so nuttso over it and would be silly to even think about, if not for the deaths the extremists protesters have caused.
Why are they REALLY protesting so venomously? Honestly, such acts are NOT rational at all. Even if we would accept some of this, as some kind of stupid feeding frenzy response to one or two groups of protests, that still could not explain the spreading outbursts to begin with.
Protests, are just as much a part of the fabric of America as anywhere, to redress complains or objections. Violence, here or there, to make some kind of statement, only exasperates problems. Don't like the film? Don't watch it. Offended by the film? Express it, non-violently. But to kill, burn property, go friggin NUTS over it? All it does for me, is convince me that, in this case, Islam is a violent and very unwelcome religion.
So, what IS their real problem? Maybe, in the words of the fictitious quote of Doc Holiday, they want "Revenge". For "Bein' born." Being born in a backward part of the world, with a backward religious belief, and with NO escape but through death! And on that path to their own death, they choose to take as many other people with them as possible.
Unless someone can convince me that Islam is NOT what we see in the streets of those countries, in the bad-lands of the Taliban and al Queada, and in the violence in the hearts and minds of the types who kill so may "innocent people", then I am left with what I see and hear from such savages. Sorry folks, but even the Muslims in America, remain silent to protest LOUDLY such slaughter, and in the name of Islam. Silence, is condoning.
For this outside observer, I see those extremists as rabid animals, that get agitated with the rustling of a leaf, biting at anything that moves. To hell with GITMO. Time we quit screwing around, and just put them all down.
